The fishing this past week started off slow due to heavy rains which caused there to be high, muddy waters. This seemed to have the fish in a funk and scattered. Most of the fish were caught in 2 to 6 feet of water on swim jigs, spinner baits, and traps. Later in the week, the water cane back down to normal levels for this time of year and began to stabilize.
Fishing really started to pick up later in the week with most of the fish being caught on traps, squarebills, chatterbaits, and a few swimbaits.

The ABT Saturday showed just what Guntersville is known for… big fish and a lot of them! Over 30 lbs took 1st place and there were more and 30 bags weighed in with 20+ lbs.

The weather next week shows a warming trend toward the end of the week which should really get the females biting.
